New Brewery in John Day
Nestled in the middle of John Day River Territory in “metro” John Day (watch out for rush hour!) you’ll find Eastern Oregon’s newest brewery. 1188 Brewing Company opened up in 2014 and are serving up great beers using the delicious local water, knowledge of excellent hops, and combining with the surrounding environment to make IPA, Porter, Red Ales, and more. It’s worth a trip when visiting one of Oregon’s 7 Wonders – #thePaintedHills.

Tandem Brewing in Ontario brings a new taste as you enter Oregon. Catering to those on two-wheels, they provide a variety of unique beers at reasonable prices.Pride is taken in using only the freshest ingredients, created with distinct flavors and carefully brewed in extra small batches to ensure a truly different, refreshingly smooth, and flavorful experience! So, if you need a post-hill climb carb splash, need to take a breather after that knee scraping fall, or just simply enjoy beer, ride on by and experience a true cyclist’s microbrew, made especially with you in mind.
New Breweries in Milton-Freewater
Laht Nepur Brewery ~ Gaelic for ‘Drink for Life’, this little brewery is challenging the wine-rich region. They just won gold medals for their brews at the Great American Beer Festival and Washington Beer Awards®, and additional awards from other events such as Strange Brewfest and Washington Beer Commission’s Winter Beer Festival.
All Laht Neppur ales are currently brewed with local care and true love! No tours of the brewery are offered at this time, but staff is happy to answer any questions that you may have about our ales. The have great pub grub available – including great pizzas made to order. You can grab brews to-go here too.
